Fun at the Fair!

Do the Puyallup!!

Fall time means Fair time! We made our annual trip down to the fair this year with both kids. I had gone two days earlier with a friend to do the Dizzy Pass rides. Avery had been highly disappointed when she didn't get to come. She looks forward to the fair all year long. And rightly so, what's not to like about the fair?!? (Jason could give you quite a long list!)

The rides were the main attraction for Avery this year. Owen was not feeling well. He had a cold all week and was on a steroid medication along with an inhaler. The steroid makes him g-r-u-m-p-y! So, the evening was not so enjoyable with him. We even thought that we might have to head home after only 20 minutes because he was screaming uncontrollably, but luckily he calmed down and we had time to play.

We hit the rides, met some Backyardigans, ate treats, listened to some live music, and saw a lot of different animals. But, the part that Avery seems to remember the most? I had gotten a "student admission pass" which lets people in for free... but you are supposed to be 18 years or younger. So, as we were walking up to the gate, Jason told Avery to pretend like she didn't know me... because how many 18 year olds have two kids? Well, Avery did not think that was very nice. "It's not nice to pretend like you don't know someone Daddy!" She still talks about it weeks later. While I did get in for free, I don't know if the $11 savings was worth it. It seemed harmless at the time, but it made a lasting impression on her! Good thing the rest of the evening was so enjoyable!

She's almost tall enough...

Owen's head all sweaty... from crying.

Roller Coaster!

Waitin' for the music to start...

Avery loves these hedge sculptures each year.

All night long she kept asking to use one of these foot massagers. It was her lucky night - we found one that was permanently going. Why not massage your hands and feet?
