Take Me Out to the Ballgame

On Friday night, we headed into Seattle for a little baseball. Knowing that we were supposed to be having the baby on Sunday, we figured it would be a fun family outing before baby arrived. The night was sunny and fairly warm for the most part. Baseball games are always more fun when the stadium roof is open.

The kids had a great time! Avery was rooting for the Philly's because she preferred their red uniforms to our home team's teal outfits (I can't say that I blame her). However, she quickly changed her team preference for two reasons: 1) she didn't like to be the only one cheering when "the red team" did something good and 2) the Mariners were actually winning, and Avery always likes to be part of the winning team. :)

Owen was more interested in the planes overhead and the food being sold by the wandering vendors. He played with the chairs and stared at the boisterous college guys behind us, but he got nervous when the crowd would suddenly start cheering loudly.

We had a very fun evening. We watched a little baseball, ate cotton candy, and sang "Take Me Out to the Ballgame"... and Avery has been singing it ever since!
