Happy Birthday, Avery!

5 Years Old?!?

Where has all the time gone? :)

Avery had her 5th birthday and was lucky enough to celebrate with family and friends this year. She requested a rainbow cake for her family party. We celebrated on Labor Day and invited both sets of grandparents and her Aunt Dooda and Uncle Rob's family. It was a beautiful sunny evening. The kids played in the yard with water balloons (lucky Rob was busy trying to fill them as fast as the kids were breaking them), and then we had a delicious dinner. After rainbow cake and ice cream, Avery opened some gifts and played with her cousins. With the exception of a few toys getting stuck in the neighboring trees and on the roof, it was a fun-filled evening for all.

A few days later, we celebrated with a few of Avery's good friends. It was a "water theme" party. Avery had originally wanted a "mermaid" party, but we thought the boys would appreciate more of a general theme.

We decorated plates with beach scenes, ate watermelon and goldfish crackers, played water balloon games, duck-duck-goose (they live near the water, right?), and ate our beach cake. It was a fast 2 hours, but it was filled with fun. Avery loved having so many friends over to play at the same time.
