The Santa Train

All Aboard!

This last weekend we headed out to North Bend to ride on the Santa Train! The snow began on Friday night, so as we were waiting in line to board the train on Saturday morning we had the beautiful mountains as the backdrop. Luckily we were bundled well and ready for the drafty, bumpy train ride.

My sister Laura and her husband Rob brought their kids as well. Here's Jason and Laura waiting expectantly for the ride to begin...

Once we arrived in Snoqualmie, you got off the train went into the depot. They had carolers singing, warm cocoa and cookies, and (appreciatively) heat warmers.

We also got to see Santa! Tate was brave and had no problem walking up to Santa. Delaynie, on the other hand, didn't really trust the big guy.

Avery had been all excited to see Santa, until she accidentally got a boot in the face (literally) from a girl behind us in line. Of course this had to happen about 30 seconds before it was our turn to go in. At first she wouldn't even let go of Jason, but then she reluctantly sat on Santa's lap. Once he started to talk about Dora and Strawberry Shortcake, she warmed up a little. Although she refused to look at him, she did have a long conversation with Santa about Tigger and Pooh and Dora. She wanted to make sure that he knew what she wanted, even if she wouldn't make eye contact.

Cookies and hot cocoa.

It was a cozy ride on the small train. :)
One of those Christmas memories we won't soon forget. We had a great time!!

My favorite part is how Avery had a conversation with Santa while looking away from him... but she still had to get it in there. Love it!
